Artist biography:
Born in Matamata, New Zealand, 26 year old James Warrender brings over 5 years of dedicated studio practice to his dynamic portfolio. Currently based in Melbourne, Australia.
James is a multidisciplinary artist, focusing predominantly on painting and fashion design, He has been a curator for multiple group exhibitions, while also exhibiting in multiple group and solo shows. James has also produced and been in charge of multiple fashion shows up and down New Zealand, most recently working with ID Dunedin to help organise a fashion show showcasing 25 emerging designers from all across New Zealand.
Inspired by certain movements such as cubism and the abstract expressionism movement. While James takes inspiration from these movements, each of his work acts as a mirror on his own life experiences, translating his internal and external reality onto the vibrant canvas.
